Lerato Kganyago’s husband, Thami Ndlala has been sued for owning a huge sum of money.
According to Daily Sun, the businessman who shut down a whole FNB stadium for his wife on Valentine’s day owes Steyn City Properties.
Ndlala reportedly went into a one-year lease agreement for a property in Steyn City, north of Joburg, but lawyers told the High Court in Joburg that he couldn’t pay up the R25 000 a month rental.
Thami’s refusal to pay has left him with a debt of R225 000 for rental plus 7,5% annual interest.
Speaking about the debt with the aforementioned publication, the businessman said he was only helping a brother.
“I was helping a black brother. I don’t live on that property, which is a three-bedroomed apartment. I leased that property for a friend, who could not do so because he was blacklisted,” he said.
“I took the apartment through my company Thami Ndlala Holdings because I didn’t have any problems and I had the capacity to do so. It is now coming to bite me because I was helping someone else.”
Ndlala claimed to have paid R50 000 for the deposit and first-month rental for his friend, but expected the couple to continue with the payment as they were employed.
Meanwhile, Thami gifted his wife, LKG a new luxurious hotel and car for this year’s Valentine’s day.
