AKA brags about his collaboration with the alcoholic brand, Cruz.
The rapper has been in partnership with the company for years and they’ve made headlines severally.
Kiernan decided to shake Twitter on Monday after claiming that the Cruz watermelon partnership opened the eyes of other alcoholic companies and it’s helped secure lots of deals.
“Cruz Watermelon opened up the entire industry. 90% of the deals that exist today are because of that collaboration,” he tweeted.
AKA’s tweet garnered mixed reviews as some congratulated him for being a blue print while others said his claim is a fallacy.

People are fighting thinking this is about who done it first, all because of hate. There’s no deal that was as impactful on the industry like Cruz watermelon deal. And that’s a fact you can’t fight. pic.twitter.com/WR1iNVMhdx

Meanwhile, the rapper announced plans to launch his own alcoholic drink soon.
“A good day in the office today- while the Cruz brands will forever remain both in my heart and my bar, I’ve taken the decision to evolve my business and will be launching my spirit brand shortly. As such my name will be removed from the Cruz Watermelon bottle, and Banana will exit in summer. Much love to the @cruzvodka Family for their understanding and for supporting this new chapter of my life,” he wrote.
