Advocate Malesela Teffo withdraws as legal counsel from Senzo Meyiwa’s murder trial.
The advocate who was representing four of the accused has withdrawn because of alleged abuse from the state and the court.
“On the 28th of April, when I was arrested before your court, your lordship. That was the plan hatched in the office of the president, the number 1 office of the number one in the country that I am a problematic advocate. I am interfering with the plan that has been hatched that my client should take the responsibility of the murder of Senzo Meyiwa, despite the facet that they were innocent,” he told the court.
“I will no longer be able to proceed based on the harassment that I am receiving from the State and the court,” he told the court.
“What is happening here is heartbreaking. The justice system in this country is becoming a circus..my clients are being prosecuted for sins they never committed. I cannot be part of this. Each time I raise an issue for accused 1 – 4 Judge Maumela cannot take a decision but let it be another one who raises something he is able to take a decision,” Teffo said.
Reactions flood social media as many were shocked by his withdrawal. Check out the reactions below:
Go rest Adv Teffo. You saw with your own eyes there is no rule of law, no Justice system, NOTHING! It’s ROTTEN to the core

If Adv: Teffo says he is done representing 1-4 accused claiming harassment, then it’s done and dusted. Nobody will know who killed Senzo Meyiwa. There is a lot of witchery taking place at this trial, kukhona aba jump(a) ama pramastofo ebusuku lana #SenzoMeyiwa #SenzoMeyiwatrial pic.twitter.com/UOqmta350U
