Media personality Bonang Matheba has taken a big shot at Arts and Culture Minister Nathi Mthethwa’s congratulatory message to Banyana Banyana this yesterday, 20 July saying he should resign.
The star who is known to always speak her mind called out the Minister over the lack of support for the thriving women’s soccer team Banyana Banyana.
It all started when Minister Nathi congratulated Banyana Banyana for qualifying for the finals of the Women’s Cup of Nations after defeating Zambia in the semi-finals.
“It is with a deep sense of pride that I congratulate the @Banyana_Banyana warriors on clinching a spot in the finals of the Women’s African Cup of Nations after defeating Zambia in the semi-finals. Your victory is a historic moment for women’s football in South Africa” wrote Minister Nathi Mthethwa.
Reacting to this, Bonang took to her social media to lambast Minister Nathi Mthethwa.
She also requested for the Banyana Banyana team to be paid accordingly since Minister Nathi Mthethwa has an R30 Million budget for the Orchestra fund.
