J’Something announces a 9-track mixtape titled Indoor.
The singer started working on the project during lockdown when he was struggling with anxiety.
Taking to Instagram on Monday, J talked about the mixtape and what triggered the anxiety.
“I am VERY proud to present to you INDOOR. In the beginning of lockdown I started working on music as a way to cope with the anxiety that came with an announcement made by a mainstream newspaper that stated “entertainment was the most non essential.” As someone who believes in the power of music and it’s ability to uplift and carry joy like no other, this statement broke my spirit,” he wrote.
Speaking about the creation of the project, he wrote:
“At the time I wasn’t in a really good headspace to write my own music so I decided to spend time with some songs/artists that inspire(d) me. The result … Indoor, a 9 track mixtape of covers produced and recorded during lockdown in my studio at home, indoors.”
J’Something also announced a music tour where he will perform some of the songs from the mixtape.
“Every song and every artist on this project has impacted me in a massive way and I will be putting on a 3 city tour in South Africa for a once off musical theatre experience, where I will be performing these songs and sharing my experience as an artist during lockdown.”
