Kabelo Mabalane has poured out his pains today, Friday 19 August as he pays tribute to his friend Tokollo Tshabalala.

Family, friends, and industry colleagues gathered at the Rhema Bible Church North in Randburg, Johannesburg, to pay their respects to the kwaito star who passed away on Monday 15 August due to an epileptic seizure.

Kabelo took to the podium on Friday to tell a funny story of how he met the late Magesh.

“Before TKZee, before Mashamplan, there was 2 Slice. 2 Slice was born in 1993. 2 Slice only had one hit that no one ever heard of,” Kabelo recalled.

An emotional Kabelo thanked his late friend for inspiring and believing in him, as he recited lyrics from an old song in which he honored his late friend.

“Tokollo what a privilege it has been and it still is to have been a passenger in a car that you drove, to be a catalyst that changed the world. It’s Magesh that taught me to believe. Magesh taught me to believe in myself. Magesh saw in me what I didn’t see in myself for the longest time, he saw it from day one. He taught me how to be brave, he taught me how to be fearless,” Kabelo continued.

He went on to thank Magesh’s parents, Mr. and Mrs Tshabalala. The Shibobo star was the son of former Orlando Pirates player, Stanley “Screamer” Tshabalala who is not the technical director at the Soweto football club.

A memorial service for the kwaito legend will be held on Wednesday 24 August at St Stithians Chapel, 3 Chapel Drive, St Stithians College, Lyme Park, Sandton from 14:00 to 17:00.
