South African veteran actress, Connie Chiume celebrates 44 years in the entertainment industry.
Speaking to Daily Sun, the 70-year-old said the journey was filled with various experiences which include the good and bad.
“For me, it was just a journey with different paths. There were times of sadness, excitement, rejections, and acceptance,” she said.
She said working on different projects gained her more wisdom and strength.
The star said the industry was tough but she never gave up as it was her calling, and she learned to be humble.
She further advised young artists to be humble and respect others.
“Young people should go to school and never stop learning.”
“They should respect the production team on set, and their colleagues as we are supposed to be a team,” she added.
Connie Chiume expressed excitement about being awarded Lifetime Achievement Award by the South African Film and Television Awards.
Taking to social media, she shared a video of her speech after receiving the award.
