5 DIY ice cube recipes
1. Rice water
– Rice water is a key ingredient in Japanese skincare products. It contains antioxidants, starch, and protein which helps in healing and brightening the skin.
– Make these ice cubes when you are going to have rice for lunch. Rinse the rice thoroughly to remove the impurities and then put the rice and double the amount of filtered water into a bowl and leave it covered for 2-3 hours.
– Freeze the fermented water and use the ice all over your face till it melts. Do not wipe your face, let the air dry it out so that the effects last longer.
2. Frozen cucumbers
– Cucumbers are naturally soothing to your skin and it contains vitamin C and caffeic acid which reduces inflamed skin as well as hydrates the skin altogether.
– Puree a cucumber, then add a few drops of lemon juice and 1 teaspoon honey, and simply pour the mixture into the ice tray and freeze.
– Rub the ice cube gently all over your face and neck and then wipe off the juice after 15 minutes using lukewarm water.
3. Aloe Vera cubes
– It’s rich in antioxidants and contains cooling properties that can help in reducing dark spots, moisturize and hydrate the skin and treat sunburns.
– Crush 10-15 basil leaves and a cup of water into a paste. Then, add 2 tablespoons of natural aloe vera gel and mix it together with the basil paste.
– Freeze the mixture into an ice tray and when ready to use, rub the ice gently in circular motion till it melts.
4. Iced milk
– Milk has numerous benefits, especially for your skin. It acts as a skin toner and moisturizer, hides fine lines and wrinkles, and cure acne scars.
– Simply pour ¾ cup milk and ¼ cup water into an ice tray after mixing them well together.
– Gently and evenly rub the milk cube all over your face and neck and leave it on for 30 minutes. Wash it off with cold water.
5. Rosehip cinnamon cubes
– Cinnamon helps in reducing fine lines by plumping the skin and rosehip contains vitamin C and E which help in reducing skin inflammation and inducing skin brightening.
– Mix 1 cinnamon stick cut up into tiny pieces with 2 tablespoons of rosehip in 2 cups of water. Boil the water and the ingredients till it changes into a brown-orangish color.
