When life knocks you down with failure, it is quite evident for you to feel defeated and broken down. With little or no motivation left, you may feel unworthy and hopeless.

A person feels the most dejected when their professional growth has been stagnant for quite some time now and are unable to grow financially.

The feeling of being unsuccessful escalates as you grow older and is at its peak when you hit 40. You may feel very demotivated and like a loser.

But conditioning your mind to think positively can help you to feel better. Here are some things that you should keep in mind in order to feel less successful.

1. Embrace failure as second chances

There is no limit to getting second chances. If you have failed at a particular task, treat it like a second chance and work on it again, with full zest. When you consider your failures as a way to get back up and work at it again, it’s a wise choice.

2. Develop healthy habits

If you continue indulging in unhealthy habits like smoking, drinking, eating junk food, sleeping late etc., you won’t be able to feel motivated. These habits are a major factor why you feel unsuccessful and like a failure most of the time. Stop doing these and get your life back on track. You will automatically feel better.

3. Don’t victimise yourself

Some people play the victim card by blaming everyone and everything around them but not themselves. They blame the situation they’re in and flee away from accountability. “It’s not my fault” and “this always happens to me” are some of the ways people victimise themselves. The day you stop taking responsibility is when you will have a grip on your life.

4. Look for your mistakes

What is it that you’re doing wrong? What kind of problems are you facing? Analyse and introspect deeply to understand what your mistakes are. Understanding your problems intricately and taking the appropriate action to rectify them is the way to go.

5. Don’t get stuck anywhere

If you reduce yourself to feeling that your life is stuck in the middle, especially when you are 40 then you are stopping yourself from achieving your ambitions. Feeling stuck and worthless will make you feel even more dejected.
