Zodwa Wabantu fails to pitch at an event after receiving R22k

Zodwa Wabantu has been called out by a club promoter named David “DJ DAVE” Ndubuaku for a no-show after being booked to perform in Ekurhuleni.

DJ Dave revealed to Daily Sun that he contacted her to perform at Mega Lounge in the Springs CBD on 28 October.

He further booked her at other clubs but all he got was a disappointment after paying her R22 000.

“She said yes and also said she might need more bookings as she’s not busy that night. So I managed to convince two other club owners, one in Benoni from Forex VVIP and another one in Boksburg from Broadway Pub, to book her on the same night… She received a total amount of R22 000 from me to perform at those three clubs, but she never showed up. She never answered my calls until today and never refunded me,” he said.

David said Zodwa has ruined his life as he no longer gets gigs and it’s affecting his children.

DJ Dave says all he wants is a refund as other event organisers and friends don’t trust him again, which has destroyed his reputation.

“The money isn’t mine and the club owners are angry with me and want their money back,” he said.

According to Daily Sun, Zodwa Wabantu apologised to the DJ.

“I am willing to make it up to the club owners and their promoter, DJ Dave. Please let them know I am sorry for the damage I caused. I will make it up to them.”

Meanwhile, David hopes Zodwa can return to perform at the clubs if she won’t be disappointing him again.
