December is officially here with us.
Everyone is reflecting on how 2022 has been and planning on some major resolutions for the New Year ahead.
Besides that, people are also figuring out ways to make this year’s Christmas more memorable.
The past few years have been a little chaotic but at least there is hope for a better December this year.
The secret to making Christmas memorable whether you’re spending it at home or in a different location, solo or with company, is to be present and in the moment.
Then once you master that, you can celebrate with these five fun activities:
1. Visit the folks
Once we transition into adulthood, we move away from home and start figuring out life on our own. We don’t often get to spend quality time with our parents maybe because we live too far away or are busy with our own lives.
If you don’t get to spend time with your parents often, you should consider spending this Christmas with them. If you have kids, you bet they will be so excited to be around their grandparents for the first time in a long time.
2. Do a family photoshoot
You could also start a new family tradition of taking Christmas photos every year, starting this year. This is your chance to participate in a fun family activity in a new and interesting way.
3. Prepare a new dish
Every family has their unique dishes every year. Signature Christmas dishes give us this nostalgic feel, which is a moment to cherish.
But at the same time, why not consider doing something different this year? You will never know if you can come up with a new dish that everyone will love if you don’t give it a try.
You could try a new cake recipe or even learn a different spice combo for your meal. You can even choose to have a surprise dish every year to add that exciting suspense.
4. Do charity work
There is always someone in need to cheer up during holidays. Christmas can be really tough for disadvantaged people like orphans because they don’t always get to spend it with their family the way others do.
Try something different this year by donating and volunteering for some charity work. You could tag your kids along so that they will understand the importance of being there for others.
5. Go for a couple’s trip
This could also be the perfect time for a couple’s vacation trip. You don’t have to wait until Valentine’s Day because Christmas is just as romantic.
You could decide to take a short trip out of town for a day or two where you can relax and de-stress. If you’re on a budget, you can also go for a road trip nearby and then extend the celebration at home when you’re back.
