The South African entertainment industry has lost a notable number of stars in the year 2022.
Death didn’t give the industry a break this year as it gallantly walked through, taking away different personalities with amazing talents.
Some of these people died of sickness while hideous situations led to the demise of others.
South Africans mourned greatly this year as legends also kicked the buckets.

1. KULI ROBERTS
The TV presenter died at the age of 49 in February.
2. RIKY RICK
The rapper took his life in February after years of battling depression.
3. DJ DIMPLEZ
Dimplez died on the 6th of March from a sudden brain hemorrhage.
4. PATRICK SHAI
The actor died in January; he allegedly took his life as his body was found hanging
5. TUMI TLADI
The SA rapper died in July; he reportedly committed suicide.
6. DEBORAH FRASER
The gospel singer died at Christ Hani Baragwanath hospital in May, at age 56 after suffering a severe stroke.
7. SIYABONGA ZUBANE
Siyabonga Zubane who plays “Sdumo” on Gomora died on the 7th of May; he was rumored to have committed suicide but his family slammed the rumors.
8. JAMIE BARTLETT
The Former Rhythm City actor died in May after suffering a cardiac arrest. His death was shocking to many as he was agile and active before he passed on.
9. DJ SUMBODY
The musician wask killed in November by some unknown gunmen who sprayed his vehicle with a hail of bullets while he was traveling on Woodmead road; the fatal shooting left him and his bodyguards dead.
10. TOKOLLO “MAGESH” TSHABALALA
Magesh, a member of the kwaito band TKZee was found dead in his house in August; he was presumed to have died in his sleep.
11. BUSI LURAYI
Netflix’s How to Ruin Christmas star, Busi died in her house in July after a few days of being ill.
12. CHRIS KAZADI
The actor was reportedly gunned down to death in Congo.
13. LEBOHANG QUITERIA KEKANA
The famous fashion designer died on the 17th of April after a long battle with cancer.
14. HECTOR
SA Tik Tok star known as DJ Vintos Hector Ginimbi died on Tuesday after being gunned down.
15. MANDLA MAMPINTSHA MAPHUMLO
The West Ink record label boss died on the December 24th in Durdoc Hospital in Durban Central after suffering a second stroke; he is survived by a son, Sponge Wodumo and wife, Babes Wodumo.
