Nomcebo Zikode, Zakes Banwini, and Wouter Kellerman arrive in South Africa to a heroes’ welcome at the airport.
The trio made the nation proud with their collaboration, Bayethe as it won the Best World Music Performance at the 65th Grammy Awards.
Taking to social media, the musicians shared photos of the warm welcome received from their lovers last week Friday.
“What an honour to return home to a heroes welcome! I love and appreciate every single person who took the time out of their day to help make our welcome special. Special thanks to @nathimthethwa_sa and to MEC @morakanemosupyoe for hosting this special reception,” Nomcebo wrote.
“Arriving today at the airport from winning a Grammy in Los Angeles to then getting a heroes welcome in my home country, is nothing but Gods will come true. This award belongs to all Africans. East, West, Central, South and North. I wouldn’t have done this without my fellow musicians @nomcebo_zikode & @wouterkellerman and thank you South Africa for your continuous love and support,” Zakes wrote.
