Suffering from Thyroid can be a nerve-wracking experience as the hormones produced by this small butterfly shaped gland can effect every cell and tissue of the body.
But what exactly is Thyroid and how a simple kitchen spice can make a lot of difference. Read on to find out…
What is Thyroid?
Thyroid is basically a small butterfly shaped gland, which is just below the Adam’s apple in the neck. This gland releases two major hormones in the body: Triiodothyronine (T-3) and Thyroxine (T-4), which impacts almost every cell in the body and regulates the usage of fats and carbohydrates in the body.
What’s more, it also affects hormonal balance, controls body temperature, heart rate as well as impacts reproductive health. However, in case of Hypothyroidism the thyroid gland doesn’t make enough hormones, which is often caused due to iodine deficiency, autoimmune diseases, Pituitary disorder, heredity or extreme lifestyle imbalance.
According to the books of Ayurveda, Hypothyroidism is often caused due to the imbalance of Thyroid as a result of the decline in Ojas, which leads to fatigue, weakness, poor metabolism and sluggish immunity. However, the use of Coriander seeds daily can significantly help in fixing the imbalance of Ojas and reduce the effect of Hypothyroidism. Here’s how you can include this spice to reap its medicinal benefits and treat the imbalance.
