Terry Pheto’s house auctioned off

Terry Pheto’s Joburg North home has been sold for R3.9 million.

The actress bought the house using fraudulent money from the National Lotteries fund.

Speaking to ZiMoja, the auctioneer, Graham Renfrew from Asset Auctions confirmed the house has been sold.

“We cannot disclose the name of the buyer, unfortunately,” he tells the publication.

“We received offers from R1.7 million and the final offer was R3.9 million.”

According to reports, Terry illegally received a R1 million from the money meant to host a youth awards ceremony. The money, which was from a R10 million grant, was paid to Sunguti Projects, of which Terry Pheto, the actress known for her role in Tsotsi and The Bold and the Beautiful is the sole director.

In 2022, Pheto denied involvement in any fraudulent act.

“I am dismayed to discover that I am the subject of a Special Investigation Unit probe into allegations of fraud relating to funding by the National Lotteries Commission. I deny any involvement in the alleged scheme that has been reported on. I also had no prior knowledge of an application to obtain a preservation order against me, and have no sight of this order,” she said.
