But before we get things confused, let’s look at the actual definition of serial dating.
A serial dater is someone who dates many people in a short amount of time because they love the feeling of “the chase.” It’s almost like a high, and they chase this high often. The first date is their favourite thing, but they don’t stop there.
Serial daters love second and third dates too, maybe even a fourth, but a true serial dater leaves as soon as things get serious.
Here are five reasons why you should consider serial dating:
1. You get to keep your friends
There are women who are completely unable to find a balance between a romantic life and friendship. They get into relationships and start to ignore their friends. Then, when things are not looking too great in their relationships, they reappear in their friends’ lives. The best thing about serial dating is that you can keep both your friends and your ‘partners.’ Being a single lady means you have the flexibility to hang with your girls and when you have time you can hang with your current suitor when you choose.
2. You have time to do your own thing
Being in a relationship takes up a big chunk of your time, and in this case, you may be unable to enjoy your solitude. The good thing about serial dating is that you don’t owe anyone anything. Not your time or your effort. You are not in any committed relationship. This allows you to do your own thing in your own time. You can use this time to figure yourself out, and then, when you are ready, perhaps you can consider a full-time relationship.
3. Variety
The good thing about serial dating is that you get to experience different personalities. With serial dating, you get variety. So, if you realize that one guy is a mam’s boy and you don’t like that, you can start dating someone else at the same time. This will teach you what you like and what you don’t, and by doing so, you establish a list of non-negotiables for a relationship once you’re ready for one.
4. Freedom
Relationships can hinder you from doing a lot of things. There are people who have told stories of how their significant others stop them from going to certain places or being with certain people. None of this exists when you’re a serial dater. It’s literally the best of both worlds. You enjoy dating, and freedom at the same time. How can you say no to that? You can spend your time with whoever doing whatever you want.
5. There’s always someone to talk to
When you’re a serial dater, you always have somebody to talk to. One person isn’t responding to your texts? That’s okay because you always have someone else to talk to. You can share small pieces of your life with different people and in the long run learn more about yourself and about how to deal with different people. The thing that’s so great about dating numerous people is when that vulnerable wave of loneliness hits there is someone to take your mind off it.
