In most marriages, men rarely help with the house work.
It is presumed that the woman will handle everything and that is her job to do so.
The truth is, there is no such rule! A marriage is about equal partnership.
So, if you want your husband to help out with the chores then here are ways to get it done without all that arguments and ugly fights.
1. Communicate clearly
2. List it out
3. Set expectations
Once you’ve made a list, set clear expectations for each other. Decide who will be responsible for each task and how often it needs to be done. This is very helpful in preventing misunderstandings and ensuring that both of you are on the same page.
4. Lead by example
5. Create a schedule
Make a schedule because sometimes it’s helpful in ensuring that all the necessary chores get done. Sit and work together to create a schedule that is fine for both of you. Take into account your work schedules and any other commitments you may have.
6. Show appreciation
It’s important to show appreciation for each other’s efforts, so be sure to thank your husband when he helps out around the house. Positive reinforcement can go a long way in encouraging good behaviour.
7. Hire help
This is the last one which comes in handy if you both do not have time for certain tasks. Consider hiring some outside help. This could mean hiring a cleaning service to come in once a week or daily. This could be for cooking or any other task.
