We all detest that one friend in our circle who always seems to be on the edge, fight and give out on people.

They are untrustworthy and incapable of preserving a friendship. They can become jealous at the slightest thing or won’t even hesitate to give you away.

They can also be very secretive. In such cases, it gets very difficult to understand or know the untrustworthy friend among the whole lot. Don’t worry, we have got you covered.

Here are a few ways to identify the cunning or untrustworthy friend in your friends’ circle.

1. They are always in a state of denial

If that person always seems to deny their action or are disconnected from their behaviours, then something is definitely wrong. They might speak of something but act completely opposite to it. For example, if they say that they support peace and harmony but are otherwise, arrogant and pompous. They are mostly disconnected from their actual behaviours.

2. Constant accusations

Even if it is a small matter, such people will not back down from accusing others of their tardiness. Someone who has a constant habit of not trusting and always pointing their fingers at others, is a sign of a major red flag. However, if you know that the accusation is false, chances are that they are exhibiting their own nature and behaviour.

3. Lack of empathy

You will often find such people to be less empathetic and lack in basic etiquettes of how to be sensitive towards someone in a difficult situation. The worst part is, even if they are the ones to inflict pain and hurt, they won’t even apologise or say a simple ‘sorry’. They also don’t value others enough, to show them a sensitive side.

4. They are never confidential

Even if one swears to secrecy, it is more likely that the most untrustworthy person will let out the secret, without caring if it damages other’s feelings or life. Confidentiality should always be respected. But, these people innocently say that they might have told just one other person, and thus, the cycle only grows further.

5. Inconsistency

Trust is the most sacred bond that one can share. But, when that very bond breaks off, it can be very hurtful. Distrust, inconsistency and fickle-mindedness become very common. Their behaviour fluctuates and they are never able to stick up to one thing. They also have problems in deciding for themselves. Helping others is still a long-lost cause.
