Monday mornings do not start on a cheerful and happy note for everyone, especially those who slog in the corporate world.
It feels that the Friday night started a few hours back and you did not realise when the entire weekend passed.
Plus, the next weekend is nowhere in sight and there are piles of work waiting for you at the office.
But surprisingly, Monday is not the most depressing day of the week and in fact, there is a study to back up this notion.
The most depressing day
According to a study conducted by the London School of Economics, it is Tuesday that makes you feel the most miserable during the entire week.
How the study was conducted
Interestingly, the research was conducted in a quite techno-savvy way. The researchers used a mobile app to gauge the mood of 22,000 participants for over two months. The volunteers were sent messages twice a day asking them about how they were feeling, where they were, what they were doing and who they were with.
The probable reason
This extensive data was analysed and the researchers shocked everyone by concluding Tuesday as the worst day of the week. George MacKerron, one of the researchers explained ‘It seems plausible that on Monday the weekend has not quite worn off,’ and people tend to be gloomier by Tuesday as the weekend is still three days away.
Any guesses for the happiest day?
Like most of would have already guessed, the study concluded Saturday as the day when the participants were in their best mood and this happy feeling continues till Sunday as well.
