As much as we love fine and premium alcohol, for most of us there is a certain price we will stop at when buying alcohol.

A couple of thousands a bottle at times makes sends, but how about over R100 000? Most of us will say ‘Nah I’m good right?’

As you say that, there is someone out there who is spending millions for a bottle. Here are three of the most expensive alcoholic drinks in the world along with their prices.

  1. Macallan “M” Whisky – $628,205: The Macallan “M” whisky is a limited edition single malt Scotch whisky created by The Macallan distillery in Scotland. It is known for its exquisite craftsmanship and exceptional quality. In 2014, a 6-liter bottle of Macallan “M” whisky, adorned with Lalique crystal decanter, was sold for $628,205 at an auction, making it one of the most expensive whiskies ever sold.
  2. Henri IV Dudognon Heritage Cognac Grande Champagne – $2 million: This cognac is produced by the Heritage Cognac House and is considered one of the finest and most luxurious spirits in the world. The bottle is made of 24-carat gold and sterling platinum and is adorned with over 6,500 diamonds. Priced at $2 million, it is often referred to as the most expensive bottle of cognac.
  3. Billionaire Vodka – $3.7 million: Created by Leon Verres, the Billionaire Vodka is known for its extravagant packaging. The bottle is adorned with over 3,000 diamonds and is made from solid white gold. In addition to the luxurious presentation, the vodka itself is filtered through diamonds and claims to be of the highest quality. A single bottle of Billionaire Vodka was listed for sale at $3.7 million, making it one of the most expensive vodkas in the world.

Please keep in mind that prices may have changed, and newer, more expensive alcoholic beverages may have been introduced since my last update.
