If you’re looking for a job change, you need to keep in mind certain dos and don’ts.

With social media seeping hugely in our lives, and recruiters being equally active on social media, here’s looking at a few of them you need to keep at bay…

1. While posts that have negative implications any way reflect on one’s personality it adds minuses all the more if you speak ill of your colleagues or your workplace. Recruiters shy away from hiring anyone who is constantly cribbing.

2. Someone having a strong political inclination is seen as biased. So posts, statuses and any sort of political promotion may see a red flag.

3. If the pictures you upload do not go well with your profession, you might need to get them off your profile. Or at least not keep it for public viewing and make changes in security settings accordingly.

4. Updating your profile by means of statuses or sharing posts during office hours is not appreciated. In the same vein, an inundated timeline is another turn off.

5. Updating too much about your personal or more specifically romantic life can hinder your chances – so much so that, that employers might start believing that there will be many excuses in the name of love!
