DJ Maphroisa in court
DJ Maphorisa’s case in the Randburg Magistrates Court has been postponed to the 25th of August, 2023.
The South African star whose real name is Themba Sonnyboy Sekowecame appeared in court on Wednesday, 26 July, for submission of representation to the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).
In June, prosecutor Clarance Makhubela said they postponed the DJ’s matter as he had to submit his legal representation to the DPP.
Phori was arrested on the 7th of May after a case of common assault was reported by his estranged lover, Thulisile Phongolo at the Sandton Police Station, north of Joburg.
Thuli withdrew the case in May while the musician was granted a bail of R4 000.
However, his days in court are yet to be over as he is awaiting a decision from the DPP.
