During winters, there is a rise in seasonal ailments and allergies caused due to the moisture in the weather.
This is also the time when the immunity is compromised and leads to cold, cough and fever.
Well, if you too have been dealing with such common issues, here are some simple ways to use ghee as a simple remedy to fix cold, cough and fever.

1. Sore Throat

Gargling with warm water mixed with a little ghee can help soothe a sore throat. Ghee’s lubricating and soothing properties may provide temporary relief from throat irritation.

2. Dry cough
Consuming a teaspoon of ghee mixed with a little honey before bedtime is thought to be helpful for relieving dry cough. Honey has its soothing properties, and ghee can provide lubrication to the throat.

3. Nasal congestion

In some Ayurvedic practices, a few drops of warm ghee are instilled into the nostrils to relieve nasal congestion. This practice is called “Nasya.” However, Nasya should only be performed under the guidance of a trained Ayurvedic practitioner.

4. Immune support

Ghee is considered to be rejuvenating food, and its consumption in moderation is believed to support overall health, including the immune system.
