DJ Cleo desires to sign a recording deal

DJ Cleo opens up about his desire to get signed to a record label.

The DJ whose real name is Tlou Cleopas Monyepao spoke to Mo Flava on 947 about his career spanned over the past two decades.

He talked about his first hit Goodbye featuring DJ What What, which debuted in 2006.

“I was at Carfax (in Newtown, Johannesburg)…DJ Fresh was playing, my idol, and he drops the song and people went crazy. I was speechless,” Cleo said.

Tlou worked in a radio station and it ended up favouring his music career as he got noticed after playing a couple of his songs on air.

“By being on radio, Ashifa Shabba and DJ Fresh gave me an opportunity to DJ on their drive show. I could throw in one or two of my songs and that’s how TS Records got to know me.”

During the interview, DJ Cleo said he has never signed a recording deal, which he still desires to date.

Taking to Twitter, the DJ wrote, “Still looking for a record deal,” adding a sad emoji.
