Lee-Anne “Gogo Maweni” Mokopo and her husband, Sabelo Magube are expecting a set of twins.
The sangoma opened up about using IVF to conceive the twins during an interview with DJ Sbu.
IVF stands for in vitro fertilization. It’s one of the more widely known types of assisted reproductive technology (ART).
It is a complex series of procedures used to help with fertility or prevent genetic problems and assist with the conception of a child.
“Soon we’re going to add two more babies to the list. We’re having twins. This was supposed to be a secret until the bump comes out,” she said.
“We work so hard, and the reason we work so hard is to be able to afford certain things. There’s IVF. You go and they take out your egg for the first month, then they take out your egg the second month, then they put it back. I went to a gynecologist and asked to be referred for IVF and we’re here now.”
The traditional healer has three children. Her firstborn son from her previous relationship with an unidentified American man, her second son with actor Sthembiso Khoza and another with former soccer star Siyabonga Zulu.
A few months ago, it was rumored that the couple separated and Gogo is with a new man, but she dismissed the rumors, saying she and her man will be together forever.
