Lady Du’s success
Lady Du shows off the awards and plaques scored as a musician.
She decorated her house with some of these wins and she’s excited over her achievements.
Taking to social media, Du advised and motivated her followers with her success.
“Since I don’t play music in my house the only way one will know what I do is by walking my wall of fame. I have more plaques to put up as I’m afraid of heights but, I have never posted my achievements in music. I have more than 7 platinum plaques,” the singer wrote.
The Amapiano vocalist further cleared the air over some misconceptions about her.
“Let me explain something that has been a misconception, I’ve recorded sooo many songs that I own but because I never had a distributor I trusted I decided to play chess, I’d drop songs with people but ask to own the master and have majority percentages that way i still made money but didn’t have to pay for it.”
“Because I’m an independent artist it’s way tougher to drop music on your own without any financial backing so I mastered the system and it built me an empire.”
She further appreciated people who assisted her through her musical journey, they include, DJ Maphorisa, Mr JazziQ, Kabza De Small, DJ Tira, the late DJ Sumbody, Cassper Nyovest, Oskido, Gugu Khathi, DJ Sbu, DBN Gogo, DJ Bongz, DJ Clock, and DJ Zan D.
“No one will ever make it by themselves. Don’t push yourself too hard understand the game and know what you are here for. Fame is very hard, I’ll give you free advice, when people know about you and you know you have their attention, work sooo hard to build businesses outside of what you do to become one of the greatest artists!!!!”
“Your legacy is in your assets not liabilities, build for your kids and family, not your friends and fans!!! Let your friends and fans learn from you and be inspired by you!!! Thank you to everyone who has and still mentors me in everything I do,” she wrote.
