DJ Zan D apologizes to Okmalumkoolkat for claiming that he isn’t a lyricist.
The DJ shared his top 5 SA rappers, but Malum was not on the list; in his defense, the rapper isn’t a lyricist, hence he didn’t enlist him.
Okmalum found the statement offensive and voiced out against it on social media.
The DJ realised his statement was offensive, and he apologised for it.
“I respect @okmalumkoolkat profusely. He is one of the greatest to ever do it. I’ve apologized about my statement to him directly and we have addressed the situation. I won’t be replying to each and everyone about this matter any further. Lesson learned: we need to narrate and document our culture accurately to avoid confusion and misinformation in future,” Zan wrote.
The rapper reacted to the apology note with, “Sharratz to @djzand its all love , it’s always good to learn from the greats.”
