DJ Maphorisa opened up about how Amapiano changed the African movement and helped some top musicians in Africa.
Taking to Twitter, Phori kicked off his address by pleading with Arts and Culture to help Amapiano artist in securing visas without stress.
He further bragged about how the hit song, Sponono featuring Kabza De Small, DJ Maphorisa, Cassper Nyovest, Wizkid and Burna Boy birthed the Nigerian star, Asake’s new sound.
Maphorisa also slammed claims of being a gatekeeper in the industry.
“Won’t forget the day I gave Kabza Sponono it change the whole african movement,” he wrote.
“Use ur brains, Wizkid, Burna boy, Madumoney, CasspeeNyovi in one song a u crazy Porry gatekeeping ?????”
“Sponono was the birth of Asake new sound it opened doors for all. look at how Africans dance now ??? I Will definitely count myself in with or without u,” he concluded.
