Green plants and their verdant leaves, not only add to the aesthetic values of a room but they also have many health benefits, and surrounding ourselves with green, living and breathing decor is incredibly beneficial for our bodies and minds.

Your bedroom is your personal haven, and should be a place where you enjoy spending time.

Whether you have just moved in and are looking for ideas to upgrade its looks and simply want to do something different to add more life to it, decorating your bedroom with plants is a simple way to enhance your space.

Plants are not only beautiful decor, but also a healthy addition to your home. Consider a few creative ideas on how to decorate your bedroom with plants below:

1. Line a wall or window with greenery

Line up your bedroom window with small planter pots. If you have some empty floor space along a wall, you can add bigger planters with plants that grow in height. Also, you can line your bedroom walls with plant vines-both original and artificial. By lining your walls with plants, your walls will look much more interesting and lively.

2. Create a corner for plants

Does your bedroom have an untouched, unused corner? Then use that space for placing plants. Tall plants or small pots placed on a table are great for corners. Plants that grow in height over time would add a special detail to your bedroom.

3. Deck up your window sills with tiny pots

If you’re lucky to have a window sill, placing tiny pots would be the best way forward. You can also create a shelf-like structure for placing plants with floating shelves and macrame hangers. Green plants in tiny, colourful planters will instantly jazz up your bedroom window.

4. Plants on floating shelves

Shelves and bookcases are great for putting plants on display. If you do not have the space or a shelf in your bedroom, you can always try to make space on your study table or bedside table. If that’s not working out, try a hanging shelf or plant hangers suspended from a nailhead in the wall.

5. Add mini plants to your bedside table

Mini cactuses or terrariums are great for the bedside table. If your bedside table is all about utility and is mostly messy, a plant will add a much needed refreshment to it. A colourful planter can even make your bedside table a focal point of the room.

6. Add plants above almirah and dressers

The top of the almirah generally remains unused and can be a great place for adding plants. Dresses, study tables, vanity tables are all great places for displaying plants. If you have a shelf above the headboard, they are perfect for a set of planters.

7. Bring in greenery through furnishing

If adding plants is impossible for you right now, you can bring home a botanical theme through furnishings like bed sheets, curtains and more.
