Xolani appears in court over murder

Sizok’thola presenter Xolani Khumalo appeared at the Palm magistrate’s court on Tuesday for a charge of murder.

According to Sunday World, the presenter was obliged to hand himself over at the Katlehong North police station after being advised by his foundation.

“The South African Police Service has requested that Xolani Khumalo hand himself over in connection with an incident that occurred at one of the last drug busts. Xolani Khumalo and the team operated according to the strictest standards of professionalism when engaged in securing accountability from those that sell drugs and choose to harm communities,” the statement from his foundation reads.

Xolani is charged with the death of an alleged drug dealer, Robert “Kicks” Varrie, who died after a visit from Khumalo and his television crew while filming an episode of Sizok’thola.

However, it has been reported that the TV presenter has been granted R20 000 bail.
