1. MYTH: Pubic hair wards off STDs

FACT: The reality is quite the opposite. If you do not maintain hygiene down there, pubic hair can act as a breeding pool for bacteria, as hair in itself houses a slew of micro-orgasnisms. That’s just silly. While researchers haven’t studied germs in pubic hair specifically, studies have shown alarming amounts of bacteria in pubic hair.

2. MYTH: Pubic hair ruins sex

FACT: This one varies from woman to woman. Many think pubic hair leads to less friction between the sheets, making sex time a bit smoother. But, some women prefer the more intense feels that happen when they’re hair-free.

3. MYTH: Colour of pubic hair is same as the hair on your head

FACT: It’s not so. Infact check out a lady’s brows for a more accurate prediction. For the most part, pubic hair tends to match eyebrow color, except that it’s a little bit courser.

4. MYTH: A full bush is a turn off

FACT: Technically, it depends on your partner, but there is some evidence that pubic hair could even be a turn-on.

5. MYTH: Pubic hair never stops growing

FACT: The hair stops growing when it reaches a certain point. It will stop and basically stay at a certain level, and then it will shed and new ones will grow. The length at which it halts varies from person to person, but it generally stops between 0.5 and two inches.

6. MYTH: Don’t shave if you have sensitive skin down there

FACT: You may just need to adjust your approach. You might opt for a shaving cream, waxing or laser, treatment. The best way is to visit your dermatologist and let the experts do the job.

7. MYTH: Clean or hairy: What looks better?
