Tyla’s “Water” hits top 10 of Hot 100

South African star Tyla debuts on the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100.

This is huge for the singer as she breaks the record for the highest-charting solo song by an African female artist in 56 years.


South African musician Hugh Masekela did it in 1968 with the song, Grazing in the Grass, and Tyla broke the record in 2023.

African Facts released a date of the hit song: Tyla hits 29 million Spotify monthly listeners, the highest for an African female Artiste ever. Her song, Water has gone Silver in the UK (200,000 units), Gold in Australia (35,000 units) and Gold in New Zealand (15,000 units).
