Jub Jub to return to court in February

Molemo “Jub Jub” Maarohanye will be back in court for his rape and attempted murder case in 2024.

The musician is faced with is facing 13 charges including rape, indecent assault, assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, and kidnapping.

On Monday, the star appeared at the Johannesburg magistrate’s court.

Jub’s lawyer Terrance Baloyi said, “We requested further particulars because something was not adding up. We’re a work in progress. We requested further particulars because some charges we could not understand or comprehend. For example, if somebody says ‘I’ve been raped’, you say during the period of a year you haven’t said anything, so how do we plead with such a charge?”

The lawyer also questioned the authenticity of the accusation as he said that the accuser who is Amanda du Pont waited for over a decade before she opened a case against his client.

“The unfortunate part is that we are talking about something that allegedly happened many years ago.”
