Zanda Zakuza has reportedly returned to her family house in Pietermaritzburg in KwaZulu Natal after being diagnosed with depression.
The singer prioritises her mental health, hence she went on a music hiatus to recover.
The South African vocalist says she left Johannesburg due to the pressure and toxicity in the industry.
“This industry was getting too toxic for me and I couldn’t take it anymore. It was important for me to retreat and work on my mental health,” she said to Zimoja.
“I only come to Jozi when I have a gig-it’s a toxic place.”
Zanda promises to return in 2024 with new music.
“I have a lot of music that I will be dropping and I might be joining a new record label,’ she revealed.
