South African rapper Reason
Reason, also known as Sizwe Alakine writes a note of gratitude to the people who helped him survive this year.
Taking to social media, the rapper shared names of people who stood by him through his trying times.
“I may have never survived 2023 if it wasn’t for these people. Aside from the fact that i got shot at in the face and the bullet just…. missed… I really should be dead right now from the hardship of this year alone,” he wrote.
“In the begining… Everything was fine. Then all of a sudden… Things went wrong. 1 after the other. And somehow… these people carried me through it. Some of you gave me doe. some gave me business. Some gave me a place to stay. Some gave me a studio to record… and others swung me mad favors. Others helped me help my family… while the rest just gave me hope, and an ear or a shoulder to cry on at my lowest.”
Some of the names revealed are Pabi Cooper, Mac G, Kabza De Small, Palesa Mooi, Khuli Chana and many others.
“So i want to take this opportunity to thank everyone that kept me alive in 2023 . I apologize to the few handful i forgot to mention because there’s alot of people who kept me going that are out of sight and out of mind. But i thank them too. Thank you all for keeping me alive. I would never lived to touch the top of the charts and witness My God and Ancestors greatness if it wasn’t for you holding me down during the year,” Reason added.
