Floda Grae opens up about her marriage to Ngizwe Mchunu
Ngizwe Mchunu’s third wife, Floda Graé ends her marriage of 8 years and is set to focus on her life and music career.
Floda explains that she’d known Mchunu since she was eight years old because he was a family friend. Many years later, when she was 16, he made his move on her.
The musician said the former Ukhozi FM presenter tricked her into marriage; the age gap betweem them is 10 years.
“My family didn’t know [that he was courting me] and I didn’t tell them because I, too, did not understand what was happening. I just thought we were having conversations.”
“I trusted him because I had known him since I was young,” she explained.
Grae said the relationship was a lie and she’s glad it’s ended.
“I didn’t even have the desire to hear his explanation. I just shut down… Even when the relationship continued, I was just like ‘Urg! What’s the point because you lied from the beginning?’. The whole relationship was a lie from the very beginning, so it was just useless for me,” she said.
“I’ve never wanted to be a part of that life because I was never told about it… It was kept from me… Knowing myself, I would never have agreed to it,” his estranged wife said.
She described Ngizwe’s polygamous marriage as messy.
