Uncle Vinny on Hip Hop genre

Uncle Vinny claims Hip Hop is not the hottest genre in the world again, hence Amapiano and Afrobeats have taken over.

During an interview on Spreading Humours Podcast, the South African music artist said rap music isn’t the biggest genre again, as people are tired of hearing the same lyrics.

This is the most hurtful truth, I know people are gonna kill me for me. Hip Hop on its own in the world is having a decline,” Uncle Vinny said.

“But I mean, Drake is the most streamed, but I’m saying Hip Hop on its own is having a decline. That’s why genres like Amapiano, and Afro Beats are coming in you get me? That’s why because people wanna hear something new. People are tired of hearing about f**k*n*g a b*t*ch, like shooting guns, smoking the blunt, you get what I mean?

“The content doesn’t make sense anymore, so people are like also being aware. As much as we love trap, I’m a trap lover, I’m a hip hop baby, I love trap, I love everything you get what I mean? But like statistically…” Uncle Vinny added.
