A strong male is always glorified in society.

The need to organise, analyse and do things your own way has become the norm for men because society expects them to always stand strong and never appear weak in front of anybody.

Some men can handle the pressure while some crack, causing them to experience low self-esteem, insecurity and confidence issues.

Wounded masculinity can be described as the gap between what men feel about themselves as men and what their idea of being a man should be.

Hence here are some signs of your masculinity is wounded.

1. You speak loudly

When you speak loudly and aggressively, you let off a vibe that scares away people. This is a sign your masculinity is wounded as your voice or tone sounds angry even if you didn’t mean it to be. Your tone and way of speaking should always be gentle.

2. You struggle to sit still

You always feel a strong itch to constantly do something. You try to fix things or help people because this satisfies you. Getting validation for your work fills you with pride because you are constantly hit by the thought that what you do can never be enough.

3. You get angry easily

A small mistake or incident triggers you immediately, causing you to be very angry. Your personality is very intense and even the tiniest of mistake pushes you over the edge. And hence, you become very uptight.

4. You overthink a lot

You are constantly worried about what people will think of you. You overthink certain situations a lot and this has caused you unnecessary, extra stress. You tend to over analyse and overthink what people say to you. You just can’t let go of anything said casually. This is where you feel like you have to attach some meaning to it.

5. You are very rigid

This is a huge sign your masculinity is wounded because a person needs to be flexible in order to be a social person who is admired by everyone. But if you are too rigid and unwilling to change your ways, then you may need to rethink your ways.

6. You never think about the present

To think about the present means you should be able to enjoy yourself without thinking about what the future entails. You are never present. You are always thinking about your past and future and ruining the moments you should have fun or remember.
