“I’m grateful to be alive,” Lira marks stroke’s 2nd anniversary

Lira is grateful for being alive 2 years after she had stroke

Lira, real name Lerato Molapo marks 2 years since she suffered a stroke.

The South African singer was taking a stroll in Germany when she realized that she couldn’t talk; she sought help and was later diagnosed with a stroke.


Lira returned to SA and she’s been receiving treatment since that day.

The musician has gotten better, and she will be having her first official performance this month after over a year of being off music.

Lira shared a video clip of her journey over the past two years and expressed gratitude for being alive.

“22 March 2024 – today marks 2 years since the stroke and I’m so grateful to be alive and talking and singing. I’ve come such a long way. God is so good!!! 🙏🏾😊 I’ve had an incredible journey and learnt a lot. I’m almost there. Thank you to everyone who has shown me support, thank you for your love and prayers,” she wrote.
