Well-known author and journalist Melinda Ferguson is set to release a book about the late rapper, Kiernan AKA Forbes and his late lover Anele Tembe.
The book titled, When Love Kills will hit the shelves next week.
Tembe died after falling from the 10th floor of Pepper Hotel in Cape Town on 11 April 2021, while AKA was killed in Durban alongside his friend Tebello ‘Tibz” Motsoane in February 10, 2023.
A description of the book reads: “When Love Kills is the tale of hip hop star, AKA whose life unraveled when he embarked on a relationship with 21-year-old Anele Tembe. When she “fell” to her death from the 10th storey of the Pepper Club in April, 2021, after a long night of heated arguing, details would emerge that they’d been caught up in a whirlwind of toxic obsession, alleged substance abuse, and violence. Less than two years later, AKA was assassinated in what looked like a hit to avenge her death. This is their tragic story.”
Ferguson confirms the book and talked briefly on the challenges experienced while writing.
“I have been keeping a secret for a long time, but unfortunately, the news has just been leaked on social media. So, I want to confirm that my new book will hit the shelves next week. It has been a challenging journey to get this book out, and it has almost destroyed my own relationship. This is a story that has broken my heart. I have never worked harder on a book.” she wrote.
