3 reasons employees love watching p*rn at work

A 2014 US survey found that 63% of men and 38% of women had viewed pornography at work in the past three months.

Last year, global research for Pornhub, the world’s largest adult-entertainment site, revealed that consumers watch content during work hours.

When some people are caught watching pornography in the workplace, they don’t own up to their actions until confronted with evidence like their access logs showing that they have spent a lot of time watching porn during office hours. Then they come up with glamorous excuses, like it was for research or they were hacked.

Here’s why people watch porn at work:

When people get stressed at work, they often look for a distraction. Some people watch pornography at work as it serves as a distraction, helps them manage stress and deal with a bad mood. If you use porn to destress, it’s a massive red flag that may be linked to problematic pornography being used to cope with other issues.

Some people enjoy feeling as if they are pulling a fast one over their ignorant coworkers. It may even be that an overworked employee wants to get back at the company for treating them badly.

It’s not all fun and games; openly watching porn in the workplace is sexual harassment. Some employees may openly view pornography as a way to demonstrate their rank or importance within an organisation or to intimidate others.

According to the Trades Union Congress, 10% of female employees have been exposed to pornography at work, which is frequently used as a form of harassment.

People who work remotely might even find it easier to watch porn during working hours since they are in the privacy of their homes – if you are doing this just make sure it’s not during a meeting when your audio or video is on.

Watching porn at the office or during working hours is unprofessional, risky and associated with problematic activities like fraud, dishonesty, and egoistic behaviour.
