Vusi Nova reacts to reports of owing of R170 000.
The South African musician was booked to perform at last year’s Cherry Festival in Ficksburg and was paid an upfront of the above-mentioned fee.
However, he failed to pitch due to an accident; he refunded the complete money to the organisers and apologised.
“I got into an accident driving from the Eastern Cape to the Free State. It was not major but because we had to wait for police, there was a delay,” he told Zimoja.
“We could not make it on time. My life was on the line. I offered to come back for the following show. I humbly apologised and paid back the full money which was given to me. I paid those people.”
Vusi said he has settled them; hence the promoter should settle the organisers.
“The promoter, who added their fee on top of what I was charging is the one owing the organisers. I paid back what I received; she needs to pay them.”
Vusi Nova further warned against people who use his name falsely.
“I am very professional. I always make sure I show up on time. Anyone who has booked me knows this. Sometimes things happen that make us deviate from our plans, but we try to resolve matters,” he added.
“One thing about me is I never change and I always show up! So, they can take it to court, but they know. I spoke to the organisers and informed them; that they are coming for the wrong person.”
