Lady Du encourages fans to build wealth and not spend lavishly
Lady Du, real name Duduzile Ngwenya is known for being outspoken, as she’s utilised social media platforms to guide other artists in the industry.
Taking to Instagram, the Amapiano vocalist advised people to work on building wealth, rather than spend their money on luxury brands.
Lady Du used her life as a motivation for her followers.
“I said, I’ll create a salary outside of music first before I fully focus on it, I’ll create a business that keeps my life on track with or without music, I had to keep my head down, people called me names because I didn’t own luxury brands, they made fun of my clothes, because I had less than them, I remember 2 of the people I was really close with discuss me saying ngiwille their manager recorded and sent it to me. I still smiled and spoke to them nicely because I knew what I was doing,” she wrote.
“I’m literally looking at my second salon being built and it has made me soooo emotional. I know after this salon, I’ll be able to afford everything I’ve ever wanted! I will no longer be stressed about things like if I broke my leg what would happen?”
Lady Du said it is okay to be the only broke person in a room.
“My advise to you!!!! Don’t let pressure push you into buying things that are liabilities!!! Learn to separate your needs and wants! Don’t be afraid to be the broke one in the room, it’s ok!!!! I became a brand using my cellphone, my dreams were never this big, I’m living in God’s grace now!”
