Omuhle Gela neutralizes her lip
South African star Omuhle Gela opens up about her beauty journey as she underwent lip neutralization.
Lip neutralization is a cosmetic treatment that lightens the natural pigmentation of the lips, creating a more even and often lighter tone. This procedure is becoming increasingly popular among individuals looking to achieve a more balanced lip color.
Omuhle documented the procedure which she shared on her Instagram account and captioned it with a note that explains to her followers.
“The aim of this process is specifically formulated to neutralize the lip color and create a brighter and even tone. (My lower lip original color was perfect so I wanted the upper lip to match the lower lip and I wanted to create a gloss and go effect without having to use lipstick to even the lips),” she wrote.
“After the procedure you’ll will leave with a reddish coral tone but it will heal into a soft natural pink or red . It is a semi permanent cosmetic tattoo. The color develops over a period of 8-10 weeks.”
The actress’ followers flooded the post with mixed reactions; while some were irked, others defended her.
“Guys normalise yourselves with nice things, that’s lip neutralisation. It doesn’t have any harm. It’s doing the same thing as your vaselines and zumbuks. Yooh village people,” a follower wrote.
