Dr. Musa Mthombeni reminisces on how his wife Liesl Laurie surprised him in 2021 with a birthday celebration for his 30th and 31st age.
Taking to Instagram, he penned a lengthy note about the celebration and flooded his timeline with lovely photos from the event.
On this day in 2021, Liesl secretly organised a 30th/31st birthday party (I couldn’t have a 30th because I turned 30 in 2020 a.k.a. Social distancing season a.k.a.COVIVI a.k.a. Banana bread and pineapple mqombothi season) for her wonderful, awesome, beautiful, handsome, sexy, incredibly fine husband and it was all a secret. Under the lie of “let’s go out to dinner” I was with whisked away to a far away location only to find a room filled with 25+ of my so-called friends and enemies.
I have to admit that when I saw half of them I found myself wondering why Liesl would think that these people are my friends. I mean all of these people are sinners, thieves, fraudsters, fornicators (LOL) and most importantly my enemies. Why would she invite my enemies to celebrate my 30th/31st birthday party.
Then it hit me, like a Phara stealing a phone in the CBD and a taxi Marshall screaming “vimba”, it hits me. She invited all these enemies only for me to be able to see how far I’ve come and how much better I am than all of them.
This is the moment that I realised that Liesl is going to be my future wife. That I want her to be the future mother of our 9 children and grandmother to our 45 grandchildren and great grandmother to our 142 great grandchildren.
