Zandie slams Minister Gayton’s list of beneficiaries

Zandile Khumalo reacts to the list released by the Department of Sports, Culture and Arts after her name was spotted on it.

The singer, her sister Kelly Khumalo, Makhadzi, and many other artists are beneficiaries of money shared by the department, hence their names were written boldly on the list.


Taking to Instagram, Zandie set the record straight about receiving R20k from the department.

“Hhayini kanti Minister ithi senzeni kunini umuntu efonelwa imedia kusile😭😭😭 Hhaybo guys it was just R20 000 for me that was obtained legally sesingaze singalali musani ukudlala ngathi, sekungaze kunekwe amagama ethu kanje sengathi sangena kwa Arts and Culture sagqekeza I safe?”

“A call for applications was issued by the Dept of Arts and Culture for people who lost work and income during that dreadful and horrible time and we applied,complied and we were aporoved,well at least me that’s how it went so umsindo owani coz mina I wanted 200k kahle kahle bangincisha 🤣🤣🤣 Mina I have a good mind ukuthi sonke we sue this department manje izosuke ibe bankrupt sisokole futhi 🤣 ithini vele I Popi act on such things 🤔 @gaytonmck ayidumi kanje mayizohamba Minister,” she wrote.

Aside from Zandie, Makhadzi also released a statement where she denied receiving R203 000 from DSCA over the past 14 months.
