South African star Letoya Makhene announces signing a record deal with Ntethe Global Effect.

Following a long hiatus, the multi-talented sangoma is coming back to her first love which is music.


The deal with the new record label was signed on Thursday the 11″ of July in Bryanston, Johannesburg.

Letoya has signed with Ntethe Global Effect, a multi-faceted entertainment company that was founded by none other than award-winning musician and music executive, Ntethelelo Mposwa who simply goes by the name Ntethe.

The company is published by Universal Music Publishing Group. Letoya said, “Working with Nethe has been both a blessing and a challenge because as a vocal producer, he has really stretched me beyond my limits.”

On her new chapter, Letoya went on to say, “Signing with Ntethe Global Effect is a dream come true. It is great to finally get back to doing what I was born to do and to be able to work with a team of professionals whose goals are aligned with mine. I believe Ntethe Global Effect is the company that is going to take my music and my brand to the next level”.

Letoya is excited about her upcoming album.

The first single from her upcoming album is called “Abantu” and is an Afro-soul track decadently layered with sultry undertones of Maskandi music with an unmistakeable 80’s sound.

The message of the song is very relatable and will endear music lovers to Letoya as she allows us into a side of her that one can only describe as unchartered territory as it & s us an intimate glimpse into a side of Letoya that we have never experienced. 

On his signing with Letoya, Nethe had this to say, “Over and above Letoya’s many other artistic talents, she is an incredible singer. Her ability to bring warmth and sincerity into her music is truly remarkable and her fans are in for quite a big surprise when it comes to the direction we have taken her musically. People are going to experience a very different, strong but vulnerable side of Letoya.
