Muvhango has been renewed for a new season after it aired its last episode on 2 July.
Leleti Khumalo is said to have joined the new season and she will play the character of Dr Nonhlanhla Ximba.
In a statement, the production company said Leleti’s character is that of a construction mogul who is set to disrupt the familiar landscape of Muvhango, paving the way for unprecedented intrigue and groundbreaking storytelling.
Duma Ndlovu, the executive producer of the TV series, said, “Muvhango lives on; it represents not just a new beginning but a celebration of the show’s legacy. We are dedicated to staying true to our roots while embracing change, and we are excited to present our audience with a Muvhango that reflects the rich diversity and compelling narratives of modern South Africa.”
“The show has long been a pillar of our programming and we eagerly anticipate the infusion of fresh energy and captivating storytelling that Muvhango promises to bring to our viewers,” Jacqui Hlongwane, acting head of channel at SABC 2 said.
