Trevor Noah tops the Twitter trend list as he’s been involved in the Miss SA finalist Chidinma Vanessa Adetshina’s saga.
Over the past months till date, Chidinma has received tons of hatred because of her Nigerian roots.
The organization endorses Vanessa, but some South Africans on social media do not support her participation.
A few Twitter-now-X users have sparked a debate and controversy by comparing Trevor to Chidinma with claims that the SA-born comedian is also not of a South African root, as one of his parents is not from Mzansi.
“Trevor Noah: father from Switzerland, mother from South Africa. South Africans love him. Chidinma: father from Nigeria, mother from South Africa. Xenophobic South Africans hate her, they say she is not South African. Xenophobic South Africans are an embarrassment to our country,” a tweep wrote.
“Trevor Noah‘s father is from Switzerland, mother from South Africa. South Africans love him Miss SA, Chidimma’s father is from Nigeria, mother from South Africa. South Africans hate her, they say she is not South African Xenophobics are a menace, how wicked are south africans?,” another wrote.
You’re forgetting the key in all this! Trevor Noah was & still is fully immersed in South African culture & heritage. He celebrates being South african, all his achievements he has celebrated with us SA’s! All SA’s can relate to him no matter your background !!! https://t.co/NuQhDuQjuS
