Onyeka Onwenu is dead
Onyeka Onwenu, Nigerian iconic singer passes away on Tuesday night after a performance in Lagos.
The singer was rushed to Reddington Hospital after she slumped at the event, but sadly she passed away.
“Who knew she’d be gone after I took these images of her last night. She sang extremely well, was humorous, and made everyone very happy with her performance,” a photographer who was at the event said.
The family of the iconic singer and actress is yet to release an official statement about her passing, but tributes have flooded social media.
Onwenu is known for her iconic music albums such as “In The Morning Light” and “Dancing In The Sun”. She also appeared in several films, including “Half of a Yellow Sun” and “Lions Heart”.
